Your letter must have reached the insurer by 30 November for a change on 1 January.
What it changes for you
The word that matters is «arrived», not «posted». A 29 November B-mail letter can arrive on 2 December and cost a full year. Registered mail is not a formality: it is the only proof that will count in a dispute. A second deadline exists at the end of March for people on the ordinary deductible and standard model, but it concerns few.
