Premium region
In one sentence
The official zoning by which a premium is set per area, never per municipality.
What it changes for you
A canton has one, two or three premium regions, defined by the FOPH from observed medical costs. Two neighbouring municipalities can therefore fall in different regions and pay different premiums at the same insurer. That is why our comparator asks for your postcode rather than your canton: without the exact municipality, the price shown would be an approximation.
